Zeus
is arriving Thursday and is a male GSD about 2 years old.
He came to animal control lost and was not reclaimed. He
is a very sweet boy but very scared in the shelter environment.
He is friendly with people, however , he is very cautious
when meeting people he does not know. Once he trusts someone,
he will come over slowly while wagging his tail and lean
for affection. He is head shy and will cower if there is
a lot of commotion around him, but he has not snapped. He
was temp tested with large and small dogs and showed no
aggression. He was afraid of the office cat. He is very
gentle in his cage and if you put your hand on the bars
he will kiss your hand.
I found that he does not like to be patted on his side
(you can pet him, but not pat with a thump if that
makes any sense)...he turns as if to snap, but he has not
snapped or bitten at all. I think he has been hit or kicked
before. But I have been spending a lot of time with him
and now when he sees me he lights up and I get a healthy
tail wag...progress. He just needs a gentle hand...you can
touch him all over as long as it is gentle.
