German Shepherd Rescue Relinquish Process
"A Shelter Without Walls"
German
Shepherd Rescue is often getting five or more calls a day to give
up a German Shepherd. These calls are from all over the country.
If you can follow the process below and can come to our Event locations,
we may be able to find a suitable home. German Shepherd Rescue may
not be able to place your dog immediately especially if the dog
is older. It is dependent upon the availability of a suitable home.
Sometimes, arrangements for one of our foster homes are completed
within a few days.
Process:
- Complete
the Personality Profile
and return it to German Shepherd Rescue. This can be done in one
of the following manners.
- On-line
form: print form
and e-mail, mail
or fax completed form to us.
OR
-
E-mail us at gsrescue1@comcast.net
and leave your name, address, phone and fax number and a form
will be mailed or faxed to you
- The
German Shepherd dog must be evaluated prior to being accepted
into the rescue.
-
After being accepted, suitable homes are reviewed that will best
meet the dog's needs to ensure a good match.
-
We ask that if the dog remains with the current owner, prior to
re-homing of the dog, that the owner bring the dog to our adoption
events for a few hours. Refer to our Event
Page for upcoming adoption events.
Our
number one concern is that the transition from one home to another
is made with ease and very little stress for the dog. We do keep
track of our dogs and do inform all concerned of how the dog is
doing.
