Allie: A beautiful 8 year old dark sable GSD who was lost in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With the help of many great volunteers, she came to German shepherd rescue in Chicago. She was diagnosed with heartworm and has successfully completed her treatment. Allie has less than perfect vision but is very sweet and gentle with everyone she meets, big or small and is one of the most laid back GSD’s you could ever meet. Due to her limited vision, she needs to be introduced slowly and on her own terms to dogs or cats. She loves to be out in the yard and equally loves to go for long walks. She also has great car manners and is always ready to go for a ride. She loves going to the horse stable with her foster mom and just "hanging out." Allie has a visual impairment called progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) however she doesn't let that slow her down. When she encounters unfamiliar surroundings she lets her nose take over and navigates around without any difficulty. She's quite an incredible girl and deserves a wonderful and loving forever home!
