• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.
• If you rent, must have the written approval of the owner of your residence.
• Have valid ID with current address.
• Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by German Shepherd Rescue.

• Complete the Adoption application. This can be done in one of the
  following manners:

1. On-line application, www.gsdrescue1.org, e-mail completed form to us.

   OR

2. E-mail us at gsrescue1@comcast.net, and leave your name, address, phone and fax number and a form will be mailed or faxed to you.

• Each applicant will receive verification that their application has been received by German Shepherd Rescue within 48 hours.
• Applicants will be contacted ONLY if there is an immediate match between the applicant and an available German Shepherd dog. If you are not contacted, your application will be placed in a pending file awaiting a match with a dog. A good match may take some time to accomplish, please be patient.
• A volunteer adoption counselor will be assigned to each new adoptive family.

Due to the amount of applications the rescue receives on a weekly basis, it is impossible to contact everyone.

Because we are located in northern Illinois, we are unable to place dogs out of our region. However, we welcome inquiries regarding rescue groups that may service your area. Please check this coast-to-coast website: www.agsra.com.
